Slot machines are a major attraction in online or land-based casinos. The result of these social games has begun to spring fruit, with players accessing them from various platforms, like Facebook – play Mermaid Millions.

Facebook has built a reputation over the years as a solid social media network, offering all kinds of services, including being a gaming hub, marketplace, etc. Social gaming, as it is, has turned into a million-dollar market, and many casino software companies have hosted their games on different platforms. Most of them have built features to make them available on Facebook. However, the question of whether gamblers can wager on these slot machines using real money is still on.

Facebook Slots Compatibility with Smartphones

Mobile gaming has come to stay and is available on all types of operating systems, like Android, iOS, or windows tablets. Because Facebook is available for these smart mobile devices, slots are already being developed to match compatibility.

Initially, all the pokies available were present in demo mode only because of Facebook’s policy. However, the trend has recently changed, and there is now a gambling slot where players can wager in real money mode.

Facebook Now Has a Real Money Slots Gambling App

In collaboration with Gamesys, an operator, Facebook launched a real money slots machine app. Known as Friendzy, the app offers everybody a chance to wager on bingo and slot titles, with an opportunity to bet with cash instead of purchasing via the traditional way of the credits system on Facebook.

Although it is restricted to UK gamblers, it has registered a huge patronage. Part of the requirements includes being up to 18 years and a resident in the UK. Friendzy is registered in the territory of Gibraltar and requires players to register on a fresh platform outside of Facebook.

The revenue sharing formula sees the social media giant take a 30% cut on all transactions, although it is still a rumour.

Spending Limits

Gamesys still has set limits since it’s the first app to be launched with Facebook. There are several tools to be used for players to control their betting habits and prevent gambling addiction. This includes spending limits for everyone.

How It Will Work

The idea to switch towards real money gambling was not surprising since the company claims that they have a mature gaming audience. Players must undergo verification procedures to combat underage gambling using Facebook’s age-gating technology.
